It's a unique door knocker. The sound is really crisp. It's turning heads. I am pleased with our purchase. Two things to consider: no hardware was included. I know that the thickness of doors vary but two- 3/4" screws of the correct size for the pre-drilled holes would work for most doors. And, when the door opens and closes, the knocker makes a little knock on its own. There may or may not be a way to prevent that.

The holes in my door are vertical and the ones on the door knocker are horizontal. I am trying to adapt it because I really like the door knocker; it is very unique. I wonder if a new design could be expanded to work both ways?

The only negative about this very cool, distinctive knocker is that it didn't come with hanging hardware. I would have gladly paid a little extra for some screw and nuts!
