Graham Bergh and his team of gifted artisans in Mosier, Oregon make an amazing range of funky household items from tons of recycled bike parts. Each month they collect 3,000 pounds of used parts, drawing from 150 shops in 17 states. The parts that still have life in them are donated to a local non-profit group that teaches bicycle repair to children, but the ones that are beyond repair are made into cool things like this bike chain bottle opener. I bought this as a stocking stuffer for my boyfriend whe rides his bike all of the time---and loves beer, but not at the same time, of course! :) He really loved it. He keeps it out on his kitchen counter or the hook by the fridge. It's fun and different and does it's job as well. I gave it to him with a six pack of his favorite bottled beers and just rested it on the top of the six pack, sort of like a bow. He really liked it and I know he wasn't lying, because he uses it! It's also a good size, bigger than it looks so you won't misplace it.
