I gave this product as a shower gift and someone else said that their sister-in-law used it not for newborn prints but for the first step milestone. They took of picture of the baby walking and how their foot looked around the day. Usually the hospital gives you a stamped footprint so you have the newborn size already.

Cute idea but the material used for the footprint is extremely hard to work with. It never got soft enough to get a good imprint of my daughters foot. And I as afraid I was going to break her foot getting the imprints I was able to finally get. I made 3 for grandparents but ended up returning my own set because I could not get the material to soften at all!

This is a nice frame for keeping a memory of your child. I have another one I received at the shower for my first child. I chose to wait till she was a year old to use it since I already had hand and foot prints when she was born. The only drawback to that plan is she's a tall girl with big feet and I barely had enough material for a foot print. Luckily it worked out nicely and the frame looks great with her one year picture. To be consistent, I'll wait till a year to use it for my son also. I thought the frame was a tad overpriced but it's attractive, solid, and easy to use.
