When asked why her artwork has spread with such enthusiasm, Melissa Gondek says, "because I'm sculpting love, and everyone needs more of that." She began by making mud pies as a little girl but swears she only ate one once. As an adult, she attended art classes at the Corcoran College of Art and Design and at the Art League School in Alexandria, Virginia, but allowed the pursuit of a practical degree to guide her years at the University of Virginia. After two decades in the business world, Melissa seized the opportunity of a cross-country move to reignite her creative passions. Her playful figures now keep people company in more than eleven countries across four continents, although Antarctica continues to elude her. She enjoys trying to foxtrot and railing against historically inaccurate fiction, although rarely at the same time. She gets entirely too sentimental about weddings, TV shows about lost pets, and the wild bunnies living in her backyard.
