In 1957, Ken Lau started his profession as a clock designer. He was a pioneer of using natural materials, such as wood and stone, for designer clocks.
In 1968, Ken began designing watches, in addition to clocks. Relatively new to the watchmaking industry, Ken continued his efforts on using mainly natural materials for designs. In 1985 Ken designed his first wooden watch, a simple round watch made of Rose wood. And in 2000, Ken developed the Sandalwood watch line. He introduced his trademark watch, the wooden bracelet watch in 2002.
