Aid To Artisans

Artist Bio

Through collaboration in product development, business skills training, and development of new markets, Aid to Artisans provides sustainable economic and social benefits for crafts people all over the world in an environmentally sensitive and culturally respectful manner.

In 2010, a massive earthquake struck Haiti, killing an estimated 316,000 people and leaving countless others injured and homeless.

Fair trade artisans working in Haiti's capital, Port-au-Prince, and in Leogane, the town most affected by the magnitude 7.0 earthquake, now work to bring money back into the communities they are struggling to rebuild.

Thanks to Aid to Artisans and the fair trade certified companies with which they work these artisans are ensured safe working conditions and given fair wages.
