Raised in rural Indiana, Beth Mueller now lives in Barre, Vermont, where she creates splendid hand-painted ceramic pieces.
Beth received a BA from Eckerd College. During here time there, she also worked at Studio Santa Reparata in Florence Italy, learning printmaking. Upon graduation, she served a two-year apprenticeship in the pottery studio of John Glick.
Her work is also influenced by the experience she gained before becoming a professional artist.
This road to becoming a full time studio artist included her work as a camp counselor, supervisor for a housing shelter, waitress, bartender and French teacher--not necessarily in that order.
She is inspired by capturing small snapshots of what she sees around her. "It all amazes me," she says. "All of these pieces relate in one way or another to some part of my life--a trip, a person--they are often little personal notes..."
