Kathy Bransfield grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she spent her childhood climbing trees before starting art career standing in front of the TV and painting alongside legendary television artist Bob Ross.
Her natural ability to paint "happy little trees" and snow-capped mountains began to outshine her dirt biking abilities, and after graduating from The School for Creative and Performing Arts, she began traveling and selling her own handcrafted jewelry.
She creates meaningful jewelry out of both gold and sterling silver, each a reflection of her complex character, revealing an organic sentiment and creating a modern day heirloom.
"As cliche as it sounds... I'm inspired by everything and everyone around me. From my daughter's zest for life to watching the sunset from the canyon and everything in between. People-watching on Venice Beach, scuba diving and seeing something for the very first time, cooking with my husband, playing games, traveling, floating peacefully on the ocean in silence ... the list goes on and on and on."
"For over 25 years, I have looked to beautiful and powerful words to strengthen me or heal me. And for even longer I have looked to nature to do the same. I think within the jewelry there is a lovely balance of the two merging into one.
"My favorite thing about the work I do by far is the freedom that it allows me. I am able to spend more time with the people I love doing the things I love. A gorgeous day does not go unmissed. Which only leads to more inspiration...."
Kathy now lives in Los Angeles County, California, where she can be found camping, scuba diving, playing board games and engaging in rubber band fights.
