Theo Keller

Artist Bio

Growing up in Maine around artisans and craftsmen, Theo Keller was able to develop an appreciation for fine art and learn many techniques in various mediums at an early age. By the age of 18, he had been a photographer for eight years, but nothing had caught his eye like the intensity and beauty of molten glass.

Shortly after, he studied in New Mexico under Lewis Wilson, a noted glass sculptor and bead maker. He went on to continue his education in North Carolina, where he was exposed to the many artistic possibilities inherent to glassblowing. He studied under Italian master Emilio Santini, and soon after was selected to exhibit his work at an international show alongside Dale Chihuly and many other renowned glass artists.

That summer, he studied at Penland School of Crafts, then moved to Asheville, North Carolina, where he set up his studio. In 2002, he spent six months as the head glassblower for the United States Center for Early American Crafts at Disney World. His work is currently exhibited in galleries nationwide and can be seen throughout the year in many different art and craft shows.
